The HSCC Guards Trophy is open to sports racing, sports and Grand Touring cars complying to FIA appendix K. A very varied grid with close racing right through the field.
5. TECHNICAL REGULATIONS:
The following technical regulations are set out in accordance with the MSA specified format and it should be clearly understood that if the following texts do not clearly specify that you can do it you should work on the principle that you cannot.
5.2 GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The HSCC GT & Sports Racing Championship is open to sports racing, sports and Grand Touring cars complying in full with the provisions of FIA Appendix K, articles 2.2.3, 2.2.4, 2.2.5, 2.2.6, 2.2.7,2.3.6, 2.3.7 & 2.3.8 (2007 regulations) in respect of Open & Closed two seat racing cars, Standard Grand Touring cars (GT), Competition Grand Touring cars (GTS) or Grand Touring Prototypes (GTP). Each vehicle must possess FIA Vehicle Identity Forms.
All cars must conform (or be deemed by the Championship Committee to conform) to the relevant specifications of FIA Appendix K. Final authority in regard to the acceptance and classification of all cars will rest with the
Main Board of the Club, which, upon referral to it of any case by the Championship Eligibility Scrutineer or the Club Chief Registrar, shall:-
i) accept, reject or reclassify any car, and
ii) determine the extent to which such acceptance, rejection or reclassification shall take effect retrospectively.
5.3 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Vehicles must meet the higher of the minimum safety standards specified in FIA Appendix K or MSA Blue Book Appendix Q (except Q4, 6, 7 and 12 which are not mandatory).
5.4 GENERAL TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS & EXCEPTIONS:
All vehicles must comply with their FIA Vehicle Identity Documents and with the technical requirements of FIA Appendix K except in respect of:-
5.6 BODYWORK: Ground clearance for all GT cars will be 100mm for all sprung parts including exhaust systems.
Ground clearance for two seat racing cars 60mm for all sprung parts including exhaust systems.
All Championship Classes Dunlop L or M 204 compound
SRD & SRE:
DRY: Dunlop CR 65/82 Post Historic 484 Compound
WET: Dunlop CR 65/82 Post Historic 484 Compound with additional hand cut grooves permitted.
5.14 WEIGHTS: As per the cars homologated weight as stated FIA document. The minimum weight for standard Lotus Elans will be set at 1527lbs/692 kilograms.
5.16 SILENCING: All vehicles must comply with MSA Regulation E12.17.
and are also subject to individual circuit requirements if specified in Supplementary Regulations.
5.17 NUMBERS and CHAMPIONSHIP DECALS: As per MSA Blue Book.
All competing cars must display at least Two HSCC badges one on each side of the car.
The following Commercial Undertakings are not subject to the Judicial procedures of either the Championship Stewards and/or the MSA/MSC
