The URS Classic FF2000 series is for cars built and raced up to 1983, providing competitive slicks-and-wings racing.
2015 is the 29th year of Universal Racing Services Classic Formula Ford 2000. The series aims to provide close competitive single-seater racing, with an open and friendly atmosphere in the paddock.
For 2015 there will be 15 races at 9 meetings (including the Silverstone and Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuits), well-spaced throughout the season. Races typically consist of a 20-minute qualifying session, followed by a 20 mile or 20-minute race.
The BARC organised meetings are double-headers with a qualifying session and race on each day, making it possible to enter for a single day if necessary. There is an invitation class for Classic Formula 3.
The HSCC organised meetings have a single qualifying session followed by one or two races. Some of the races will be run with Historic Formula Ford 2000 and some with Classic Formula 3.
Classic FF2000 has two main classes – Class A for post-1980 to pre-1984, and Class B for pre-1981 cars. Trophies are awarded to competitors who finish first, second or third in class, regardless of overall positions in races.
Universal Racing Services supply spares and advice at each meeting. URS keep spare part cost to the minimum, making it the most cost-effective competitive slicks-and-wings single-seater formula available.
