Introduced in 2009 to terrific success, the R300 championship sees drivers moving out of the Academy based race cars, into an all-new dedicated race chassis. Sold out for 2010.
The new Superlight R300 is a fully-fledged race car, with 175bhp, six-speed gearbox and limited slip differential. 0-60mph will be dispatched in around 4 seconds, whilst the 1:1 ratio 6th gear, coupled to the powerful engine, means that drivers will be able to exploit the car's full potential in every gear.
Visually, the R300 shares its appearance with former Superlight race cars; complete with aluminium half-tonneau and boot cover.
As with all Caterham racing, the tight technical regulations ensure a level playing field of cars, whilst development has focused on ensuring durability and low running costs. Race meetings will all double-header rounds of 30 minute races and team support is allowed, for those that prefer to just arrive and drive.
